About Jas Nicole

 

Jas Nicole is a wife and mother of 4 beautiful children. Born and raised in Memphis, TN, Jas Nicole started her dance journey at 11 years old. From that time and throughout high school she danced for community groups such as, The Mighty Marcher of Memphis and The Golden High Steppers. In high school she joined the Hamilton High Stepping majorette team where she led as Captain her senior year. The summer of 2003 she became a member of The Prancing J-Settes, which is an integral part of The Sonic Boom of the South marching band. As a Prancing J-Sette she led as Caption her junior and senior year.  During her time at Jackson State University, she became a member of Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She graduated cum laud in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree. With a current career in IT as an Access Management Analyst, she is the true definition of a woman of many facets.

During the summer months before college, during college and for many years after she dedicated her time to judging competitions, instructing, training, and performing with various companies. She worked for TMH Dance Company as an instructor and performer, she was a part of the Memphis All Star High school and Alumni Band, and she coached various high school dance teams. These high school dance teams include Raleigh Egypt high school, Douglas high school, and White station high school.

In 2012, Jas became part owner of Studio Liv dance studio where she trained with experienced professionals, instructed classes, and performed various challenging routines. Some notable classes that were taught at Studio Liv are Setteology, Stilletto Groove, Hip Hop, and of course the seductive Pole Classes. In 2017, Jas was a finalist in the Memphis Grizz Girls auditions. Jas Nicole continues to dance at various events, host dance parties, train with talented dance professionals, and teach dance in her spare time. She was the choreographer and lead dancer for the Netflix film Out of Bounds. She was co-producer of Burlesque Memphis Dance Production. Their first show was Dec. 30th, 2017 and it was a huge success. Currently, she is a lead for the Destroyers of Dance Collegiate Alumni Dance organization. Her most recent accomplishment is becoming the Head Coach of DD4L Memphis! Her story is still unfolding!
